The Drive-In. Phineas and Ferb.

                                           The Drive-In.

Today's post we are going to talk about one of the greatest shows to ever be on T.V. Phineas and Ferb. The Series was created by  Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh. It had 4 seasons witch ran  between August 2007 and June 2015.

Now if we could get  Mr. Povenmire and  Mr. Marsh to release Phineas and Ferb in a Dvd or Blu Ray every episode and films box set so we could own them all that would be awesome.

Most people who know me know that I collect films and T.V. animated shows and specials, Phineas and Ferb would be a perfect fit for my everyday growing collection.

If Mr. Povenmire and  Mr. Marsh were to ever read this I hope you guys will consider releasing all episodes in a box set. You 2 are legends in my house, so thank you for Phineas and Ferb and all the other shows you have brought us. I can't wait to see the new episodes of Phineas and Ferb in 2024.

Now back to Phineas and Ferb on Disney XD. LOL I couldn't help it, I have seen that so many times.

The series follows stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher during summer vacation. Every day, the boys undertake the construction of a grand project, or embark on a spectacular adventure, to make the most of their time on vacation. This annoys their controlling older sister Candace, who frequently tries to expose their schemes to her and Phineas's mother. The series follows a standard plot system; running gags occur in every episode.

Povenmire and Marsh conceived the characters while working together on animated programs The Simpsons and Rocko's Modern Life in the 1990s, and were inspired by the summers of their own childhoods. They developed the series together and pitched it to networks for 16 years before successfully selling the idea to The Walt Disney Company. Phineas and Ferb is produced by Disney Television Animation, and was originally broadcast as a one-episode preview on August 17, 2007, following the premiere of the made-for-television film High School Musical 2. It again previewed on September 28, 2007, and officially premiered on Disney Channel on February 1, 2008. The series originally concluded on June 12, 2015, before two new seasons were ordered in January 2023.

Phineas and Ferb is one of Disney Channel's most successful animated franchises. It received high viewership in the United States on cable television and influenced the development of merchandise, a live tour, spin-offs and movies. A made-for-television film, Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension, aired in 2011, while a follow-up titled Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe was released on Disney+ in 2020. Critics praised the writing and humor of the show, citing its appeal to a wide range of ages, however, some reviewers criticized its lack of originality and formulaic approach. The series won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2010 for Outstanding Writing in Animation, and won several Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation.

The show follows the adventures of stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, who are between eight and ten years old. They live in the fictional city of Danville in an unspecified tri-state area, as they seek ways to occupy their time during their summer vacation. Often these adventures involve elaborate, life-sized and ostensibly dangerous construction projects, which are usually unrealistic in scale given the protagonists' ages (and are sometimes physically impossible). Phineas' older sister Candace Flynn has two obsessions: unveil Phineas and Ferb's schemes and ideas, and winning the attention of a boy named Jeremy.

The subplot almost always features Phineas and Ferb's pet platypus Perry, who works as a secret agent identified as Agent P, for an all-animal government organization named O.W.C.A. ("Organization Without a Cool Acronym"). His regular objective is to defeat the latest scheme of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, a mad scientist driven largely by a need to assert his evilness who is often defeated by his own ineptitude. The two plots intersect at the end to erase all traces of the boys' project just before Candace can show it to their mother, which usually leaves Candace very frustrated.

The series' main characters live in a blended family, a premise that the creators considered underused in children's programming and that reflected Marsh's own upbringing. Marsh considers explaining the family background "not important to the kids' lives. They are a great blended family and that's all we need to know." The choice of a platypus as the boys' pet was similarly inspired by media underuse, as well as to exploit the animal's striking appearance. Povenmire and Marsh wanted to select an uncommon species, an animal that kids could not "pick out at a pet store and beg their parents for." The platypus also gives them freedom to "make stuff up" since "no one knows very much about them." Choosing a platypus also allowed them to own that "mental real estate," so that if someone thinks of the word "platypus," they will associate it with Agent P, just as an ogre is now commonly associated with Shrek. Marsh called the characters "cool, edgy and clever without ... being mean-spirited." Animation director Rob Hughes is said to have noted that "in all the other shows every character is either stupid or a jerk, but there are no stupid characters or jerks in this one."

Dan Povenmire attributes the show's genesis to his childhood in Mobile, Alabama, where his mother told him to never waste a day of summer. To occupy himself, Povenmire undertook projects such as hole-digging and home movie-making. Povenmire recalled, "My mom let me drape black material all the way across one end of our living room to use as a space field. I would hang little models of spaceships for these little movies I made with a Super 8 camera." He was an artistic prodigy and displayed his very detailed drawings at art shows. Marsh was raised in a large, blended family. As with Povenmire, Marsh spent his summers exploring and taking part in various activities to have fun.

While attending the University of Southern California, Povenmire started a daily comic strip called Life Is a Fish, and received money from the sale of its related merchandise. He eventually dropped out and started drawing people on street corners to make a living, until he was finally called by Tommy Chong to work on a short bit of animation in the film Far Out Man. Povenmire began to take up animation professionally, working on shows such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Marsh had become a vice president of sales and marketing for a computer company until he "freaked out" and decided to quit. His friend helped him put together a portfolio and enter the animation business.

Povenmire and Marsh started working across from each other as layout artists on The Simpsons. The two bonded over mutual tastes in humor and music, becoming fast friends. They continued their working relationship as a writing team on the Nickelodeon series Rocko's Modern Life, where they conceived the idea for their own series. While eating dinner at a Wild Thyme restaurant in South Pasadena, Povenmire drew a quick sketch of a "triangle kid" on butcher paper. He tore it out and called Marsh that night to report, "Hey, I think we have our show." The triangle doodle sparked rapid development of characters and designs. Povenmire decided that his sketch "looked like a Phineas," and named Ferb after a friend who "owns more tools than anyone in the world." The creators based their character designs on angular shapes in homage to Tex Avery, an animator and director for MGM and Warner Bros., adding geometric shapes to the backgrounds for continuity.

The writing duo's early attempts to pitch the show failed and, though they remained committed to the concept, Povenmire and Marsh began to drift apart after their work on Rocko's. Marsh moved to London and worked on shows including Postman Pat and Bounty Hamster. Povenmire began working on the primetime Fox series Family Guy and the Nickelodeon series SpongeBob SquarePants, always carrying a Phineas and Ferb portfolio for convenient pitching to networks such as Cartoon Network and Fox Kids. The networks passed on the show, believing the series' premise was too complex to succeed.

Povenmire persisted and again pitched the series to Nickelodeon, where it was considered by high-level executives but rejected once more as overly complicated. Then, after 16 years of trying, Povenmire landed a pitch with Disney. The network did not immediately accept the show, but told Povenmire that it would keep the packet. Povenmire assumed that this had meant an end to negotiations, aware that the phrase usually "means they throw it in the trash later." Disney then surprised him by accepting. Said Povenmire, "Disney was the first to say, 'Let's see if you can do it in 11 minutes.' We did it in the pilot and they said, 'Let's see if you can do it for 26 episodes.'"

Povenmire was initially worried that his work on Family Guy (an adult show known for its lowbrow humor) would concern Disney, which markets its fare primarily to families. However, Disney Channel senior vice president of original series Adam Bonnett was a Family Guy fan who appreciated Povenmire's connection to the show and received his pitch well.

In 2006, after the Disney Channel had accepted the show, Povenmire and Marsh turned their attention to the company's overseas executives. Instead of penning a normal script, the two drew out storyboards and played them in a reel. Povenmire voiced over the reel with his dialogue and added sound effects. This novel approach secured the executives' support.

The show uses four main writers to devise story ideas according to "strict guidelines", such as that the boys' schemes never appear to be "magical." Stories are reviewed at weekly sessions on a Monday, then simultaneously scripted and storyboarded. A very rough design is built before the storyboard, featuring little more than suggested scenes and dialogue, is drafted; the writers then gather for a "play-by-play" walkthrough of the storyboard in front of the whole crew, whose reactions to the jokes are assessed before rewrites are made. The writers also include running gags in every episode, which are generally lines spoken by characters. Almost every episode is split into two 11-minute segments. Dan Povenmire admitted that the "a-plot" of each episode, the one following Phineas and Ferb's inventions, is not actually a plot, but instead the setting, with the actual plot being Candace, Perry and Dr. Doofenshmirtz's story, "The essence of story is that the characters are changed by what happens to them. Nothing ever changes the boys, they never learn anything, there's never any obstacles they have to overcome, everything just works out for them."

Much of the series' humor relies on running gags used in almost every episode, with slight variation. Certain aspects of the show's humor are aimed at adults, including its frequent pop-culture references. Co-creator Dan Povenmire, who had previously worked on Family Guy, sought to create a less raunchy show that would make similar use of comic timing, metahumor, humorous blank stares, wordplay and breaking the fourth wall. Povenmire describes the show as a combination of Family Guy and SpongeBob SquarePants. Co-creator Jeff "Swampy" Marsh has said that the show was not created exclusively for children; he simply did not exclude them as an audience.

Rough Draft Studios in South Korea, Wang Film Productions in Taiwan, Morning Sun Animation and Synergy Animation in Shanghai and Hong Ying Animation and Hong Guang Animation in Suzhou animate the series in 2D Animation using the software package Toon Boom. Povenmire undertakes the bulk of production direction, along with Zac Moncrief and Robert Hughes. The series adopts artistic features from animator Tex Avery, such as geometric shapes integrated into characters, objects, and backgrounds. Povenmire says of this inclusion, "There's a little bit of Tex Avery in there-he had that very graphic style in his later cartoons." Triangles are featured as an easter egg in the background of every episode, sometimes in trees or buildings.

Bright colors are also a prominent element of the animation. Marsh elaborates, "The idea at the end of the day was candy. One of the things that I think works so well is that the characters are so bright and candy-colored and our backgrounds are a much more realistic depiction of the world: the soft green of the grass, the natural woods for the fence. In order for all the stuff that they do to work, their world needs to be grounded in reality." The designers sought to keep their characters visually simple, so that kids "would easily be able to draw them themselves." Characters were also crafted to be recognizable from a distance, a technique that the creators say is based on Matt Groening's goal of making characters recognizable by silhouette.

Phineas and Ferb are voiced by Vincent Martella and Thomas Sangster, respectively. Sangster was one of many British actors cast, as Marsh lived in the United Kingdom for seven years and developed a fondness for the British. The rest of the cast includes Ashley Tisdale as their sister Candace; Bobby Gaylor as Buford van Stomm, who has a tendency to bully but is kept distracted by being included in the adventures; Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet Tjinder, a very intelligent boy who avoids being Buford's main victim by their participation in the adventures; Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus; Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Phineas and Candace's mother and stepmother to Ferb; Richard O'Brien as Lawrence Fletcher, Ferb's father and Phineas and Candace's stepfather; Jack McBrayer as Irving, who admires Phineas and Ferb, and is the creator of the Phineas and Ferb fansiteKelly Hu as Candace's best friend Stacy; Povenmire as Dr. Doofenshmirtz; Marsh as Major Monogram; Olivia Olson as Dr. Doofenshmirtz's daughter Vanessa; Tyler Mann as Carl, Major Monogram's goofy super genius intern; Alyson Stoner as neighbor Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, a sweet Mexican/Jewish girl with a crush on PhineasMitchel Musso as Jeremy, Candace's crush and later her boyfriend; and Madison Pettis as Adyson Sweetwater, a member of Isabella's Fireside Girls troop.

The show's casting organization is responsible for selecting most of the voice actors and actresses, choosing actors such as Martella and Musso for major roles based on perceived popularity with target demographics. Povenmire and Marsh select guest stars, casting people that they "really want to work with." They also solicit guest roles from actors whom they feel would lend an interesting presence to the show.

Guest stars have included pop-culture figures such as Damian Lewis, boxer Evander Holyfield, film stars Cloris Leachman and Ben Stiller and pop singer Kelly Clarkson. Povenmire and Marsh have also solicited Tim Curry and Barry Bostwick, stars of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, to make guest appearances, while Rocky Horror creator Richard O'Brien voices Lawrence Fletcher. Top Gear stars Jeremy ClarksonRichard Hammond and James May guest-starred in a race-car themed episode as commentators. Other guest stars include Tina FeySeth MacFarlaneDavid MitchellJaret ReddickClay AikenChaka Khan and Kevin Smith.

The series is known for its original songs that appear in almost every episode since the first-season "Flop Starz". Disney's executives particularly enjoyed the episode's song "Gitchee, Gitchee Goo" and requested that a song appear in each subsequent episode. The music earned the series a total of four Emmy nominations: in 2008 for the main title theme and for the song "I Ain't Got Rhythm" from the episode "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together", and in 2010 for the song "Come Home Perry" from the episode "Oh, There You Are, Perry" as well as one for its score.

Phineas and Ferb follows structural conventions that Povenmire and Marsh developed while writing Rocko's Modern Life, whereby each episode features "a song or a musical number, plus a big action/chase scene." Both creators had musical backgrounds, as Povenmire performed rock and roll in his college years and Marsh's grandfather was the bandleader Les Brown.

The series' songs span many genres, from 16th-century madrigals to Broadway show tunes. Each is written in an intensive session during episode production; a concept, score and lyrics are developed quickly. Together, Marsh and Povenmire can "write a song about almost anything" within one hour. After they finish writing their songs, Povenmire and Marsh sing them over the answering machine of series composer Danny Jacob on Friday nights. By the following Monday, the song is fully produced.

The title sequence song "Today is Gonna Be a Great Day", performed by the American group Bowling for Soup, was nominated for an Emmy award in 2008. The creators originally wrote a slower number more in keeping with a "classic Disney song", but the network felt that changes were needed to especially appeal to children and commissioned the rock version that made the final cut.

A season two clip show, entitled "Phineas and Ferb's Musical Cliptastic Countdown", was broadcast in October 2009. The show focuses on the series' music, featuring a viewer-voted list of the top ten songs from the series. This clip show spawned a sequel, "Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown Hosted by Kelly Osbourne", which aired on June 28, 2013. Osbourne hosted the special in live form, while Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram appeared as animated.

Phineas and Ferb was renewed for a fourth season in August 2011. The series finale was announced in May 2015; the hour-long episode titled "Last Day of Summer" aired on June 12, 2015. Povenmire and Marsh remained with the network and together created a new series, Milo Murphy's Law, which aired from 2016 to 2019.

In January 2023, 40 new episodes of Phineas and Ferb were ordered, to be split across two seasons, with Povenmire returning as executive producer. The deal also included a second season renewal for Povenmire's series Hamster & Gretel. Disney Branded Television made the announcement at the Television Critics Association. On March 16, 2023, it was announced that Marsh would also be returning as executive producer and voice director.

These 2 episodes are my favorites so I thought I would add them. After you read about the episodes you can watch the Star Wars episode in full below.

                          "Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars

                                          Also titled:

"Episode IVa: May the Ferb Be with You"

Perry the "Rebelpus" breaks into the Imperial Corporate Offices, steals a disc containing the plans for the Death Star, and rendezvouses with Princess Leia's ship. Meanwhile, on the planet TatooinePhineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher live with their parents as contented moisture farmers. Darth Vader's Star Destroyer intercepts Leia's ship, forcing her to load the disc into R2-D2, but she is observed by a trio of Imperial stormtroopers, including Candace Flynn. Candace attempts to report the actions of the Rebels to the empire but is put down by her commanding officer. After seeing R2-D2 and C-3PO entering an escape pod, the trio decide to pursue them in a second escape pod and prove their worth by recapturing the lost plans, with Perry secretly hitching a ride with them.

Elsewhere, Darthenshmirtz arrives with his robotic underling Norm-3P0 at the Death Star. He reveals that he has a new invention that is even more evil, but that requires the Force to power it. Candace and her companions are on the trail of the droids until their commander sends them into Mos Eisley. Perry continues trailing the droids as they are seized by Jawas and sold to Owen Lars, and eventually absconds with R2-D2. They run into Phineas and Ferb on their way to Obi-Wan Kenobi's, whom Phineas and Ferb are acquainted with as he has given them instruction in the Jedi arts. Despite their offer of a ride, R2-D2 continues on his own while Perry remains unseen by the duo, unaware that their collision has resulted in the Death Star disc remaining in the back seat of Phineas and Ferb's speeder.

Upon discovering the disc, Phineas and Ferb set out to return it to R2-D2, which takes them to Mos Eisley where they encounter Watto's son Blatto. With Blatto's help they discover that the disc contains the Death Star plans, and they are pursued after being spotted by Candace's trio. The brothers just miss R2-D2 departing with Luke, Obi-Wan, C-3PO, Han Solo, and Chewbacca aboard the Millennium Falcon. Determined to return the disc, the pair travel to the Mos Eisley cantina and are introduced to Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, captain of the Centennial Chihuahua and an rival of Han Solo's. Isabella agrees to transport them; meanwhile, Candace returns to the Death Star. Meanwhile, aboard the Death Star, Darthenshmirtz learns that he can extract Force energy from Darth Vader's trash just before the planet Alderaan is destroyed. The Chihuahua catches up to the Millennium Falcon, but both end up caught in a tractor beam; the Chihuahua is freed after Phineas and Ferb modify the ship so that it can take on the appearance of a doughnut-selling spaceship.

Once aboard the Death Star, Phineas and Ferb are surprised and delighted to run into Perry, who was their pet before they discovered him to be a rebel agent, an event that initially upset them but that they have come to terms with. Perry makes his way to Darthenshmirtz's lair, only to end up encased in carbonite and left helpless as Darthenshmirtz unveils his new Sith-inator, a machine that will make him a Sith Lord even more evil than Vader. Ferb, sensing through the Force that Perry is in danger, leaves Phineas and Isabella to go to his aid, unknowingly passing Obi-Wan Kenobi on the way. He then knocks Perry's carbonite slab out of the way of a blast from the Sith-inator only to be hit himself, which begins his transformation into a Sith by giving him yellow irises (identical to Anakin Skywalker's transformation in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith). Elsewhere, Isabella and Phineas run into Candace, who pursues them, only to be saved from a fatal fall by Phineas, which causes her to rethink her stance on the Rebels. Darthenshmirtz is then attacked by a freed Perry, while Phineas gives Isabella the Death Star disc to take to the Rebels while he goes looking for Ferb.

Entering Darthenshmirtz's lair, Phineas discovers an upgraded Sith-inator and Ferb, who has taken on an appearance similar to that of Darth Maul. Upon learning that his brother intends to create an army of Sith and rule the dark side, Phineas reluctantly confronts him in a lightsaber duel, in which both of them upgrade their lightsabers to possess multiple blades. Isabella travels to Yavin and delivers the Death Star plans, but despite the appeals of the Firestar Girls (Rebel versions of the Fireside Girls) refuses to join the Rebel Alliance. She changes her mind after a tense conversation with Han and Chewbacca, also convincing him to return to the rebels to help Luke; back on the Death Star, Candace and her two comrades likewise decide to join the rebellion. The battles between Perry and Darthenshmirtz and Phineas and Ferb continue and intersect, until Candace comes to Phineas' aid. Together they manage to destroy the Sith-inator, which restores Ferb to normal, and the trio-along with Baljeet and Buford-depart to get to the bus that brought the stormtroopers to the Death Star, but it leaves before they can get on it. Perry also leaves with a carbonite-encased Darthenshmirtz, while the rebels begin their attack on the Death Star.

Left stranded on the doomed battle station, Candace learns that Phineas is her baby brother and that their mother remarried, making Ferb their stepbrother. Before Phineas can expound on the subject, the Death Star detonates (a nod to the creator's decision not to touch on the history of who Phineas' father is). Fortunately, Isabella returns in the nick of time and saves the group, while the Firestar Girls rescue all of the civilian personnel from the Death Star. Darthenshmirtz escapes Perry's ship on a small escape pod, while Perry makes his way to Yavin to join the celebration attending the Death Star's destruction. The rebels then enjoy a dance party during which Isabella kisses Phineas.

After production on "Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel" was complete, the Walt Disney Company purchased Lucasfilm Ltd. for US$4.05 billion. After co-creator Dan Povenmire heard this news, he did a doodle of Doofenshmirtz dressed as Darth Vader, texted it to the head of Disney Television Animation and wrote, "I smell crossover!" Much like "Mission Marvel", this crossover episode was announced at Comic-Con International 2013. Povenmire said, "May the 'Ferb' be with you and with all of us who for decades have dreamt of a chance to work with the great characters and stories of Star Wars."

None of the original Star Wars actors reprised their roles for the episode. Christopher Corey Smith voiced Luke Skywalker as well as the Toydarian, Blatto, the son of Watto from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace; Ross Marquand voiced Han SoloApril Winchell voiced Princess Leia; writer Eddie Pittman provided one line as Darth Vader; regular Perry the Platypus voice actor Dee Bradley Baker also voiced Chewbacca; and comedian Simon Pegg provided the voice of C-3PO as well as the voice of Candace's unnamed commanding officer.

                        Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation

On Christmas Eve, Lawrence and Linda are stuck at the airport waiting for Lawrence's parents to arrive from EnglandPhineas and Ferb, convert the top of their house into a large, extravagant rest stop for Santa Claus, complete with a sauna, massage table, satellite TV, elliptical center to work off milk and cookies, milk and cookies, special reindeer feeding center, and beard purifier. They urge everyone in Danville to help decorate the entire city for Christmas and they follow, happily spreading cheer along the way. Candace (who has sneered at the boys for still writing letters to Santa, declaring it childish), however, is busy trying to figure out the perfect present for her boyfriend Jeremy, and the song "What Does He Want" plays in the extended edition of the episode.

Meanwhile, Perry the Platypus sneaks off to attend a Christmas party his organization, OWCA is throwing. After receiving a Sal Tuscany CD from his "Secret Santa," he is given an emergency danger alert that Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz is up to something nefarious. He darts off to the doctor's evil lair and is trapped in Christmas lights, topped off with a partridge. Doofenshmirtz reveals that his uncle has sent him a special "Naughty-inator," a device that can ruin Christmas—his dilemma is that he simply does not dislike the holiday and is unsure if he should use it, but after carolers begin harassing him with "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" (especially the part where they demand figgy pudding and "won't go until [they] get some"), he activates the machine.

The "Naughty-inator" causes the Naughty or Nice list at Santa's workshop in the North Pole to brand everyone in Danville as "naughty," therefore canceling the holiday for the people of the town. Phineas, Ferb, and their friends are all completely distraught and decide to broadcast a song about why Danville should be branded "nice" to radios at the North Pole; two elves receive the broadcast and decide to go down to the city to investigate what caused the mishap. Meanwhile, Candace continues to unsuccessfully try to get Jeremy to hint at his perfect gift, merely baffling the boy.

The elves—named Blayn't and Clewn't—finally arrive in Danville and inform the boys that it appears that it is the city itself, not the people, that is "naughty" and they are unsure why. Doofenshmirtz, meanwhile, decides to put in Perry's Sal Tuscany CD in his stereo and when Tuscany on the radio sings "Christmas cannot be destroyed not even by a Naughtyinator!!!!!!!", the loud vibrations destroy the "Naughty-inator," causing Christmas cheer to return to Danville and removing the "naughty" brand from everyone. The elves inform the kids that it is too late to clear up the misunderstanding with Santa, meaning Santa cannot come to Danville. Phineas and Ferb, not ready to give up yet, see their opportunity to save the holiday and decide to create a flying sleigh, along with help from Blanyn't, Clewn't, Isabella, Baljeet, Buford and (amazingly) Candace to deliver presents made by the two elves at record speed to every house in the city. They almost fail at doing so, as it is too dark to see anything, and when one of the presents gets jammed in the "present cannon" Baljeet fixes it but in the process is shot out of the cannon and flies through the sky and down the chimney with the present into his friend's house where he gets his Christmas wish: a kiss underneath the mistletoe from a girl. Buford (who had been on the "Naughty" list) gets everyone in the city to turn on their Christmas lights, putting him on the "Nice" list in the process. They finally succeed and everyone in town gets a present. Meanwhile, Perry has managed to escape and wrap Doofenshmirtz in his own Christmas lights trap, causing him (to his delight) to finally have the ability to hate Christmas.

When the gang return to the Flynn-Fletcher house, they find that Santa has come to the city and just finished using their rest stop. He thanks Phineas for taking care of deliveries for the city and flies off with the rest stop hitched to his sleigh. Doofenshmirtz, similarly, smashes the Sal Tuscany CD in rage and discovers that it is actually a gift from Santa Claus himself, as "A Sal Tuscany" is an anagram of Santa Claus, with "an embarrassing left over 'Y' at the end". This made Doofenshmirtz realize that Santa was the one who sent him the plans for the Naughty-inator as part of Santa's plan to grant Doof's wish of the ability to hate Christmas, though Doof actually sees it as a reason to celebrate the holidays, much to his delight. In a style similar to "The Gift of the Magi", Candace sells her necklace that she was planning on trading for earrings to get Jeremy a new guitar and Jeremy sells his old guitar that he was planning on trading for a new one to get Candace the earrings she wanted. In the end, Lawrence and Linda finally return home with the children's grandparents, and everyone opens up their presents ... even Doofenshmirtz gets a present from Perry: his favorite almond brittle.
